Why I show up to my mat…

I show up to my mat to heal.

To nurture the heartbreak and celebrate the heartbeat.

Everyday.

I show up to be kind to myself—to explore my physicality, sweat salt, release tension, test strength.

I show up to attune my body with my breath in exchange for a quiet mind.

I show up to drink from the well of the universal life force—to lie awake in the arms of the Great Spirit.

Yoga allows me to cross boundaries. To discover realms of potential. To ignite transformation. To open my heart, caress its bruises,  soothe its sorrow, breathe into its beauty. To be humble and heard. To absorb light and let it guide me through the dark.

Yoga is a practice like no other—it’s athleticism, dance, meditation, prayer, devotion. It’s nutrients for nerves, medicine for mindfulness, peace for anger, love for hate, gratitude for greatness.

It’s a spiritual science in wellbeing.

Yoga is my compass to the horizon. Where the sun meets the moon. Where opposites unite. Where diversity dances on the planes of glory.

Yoga is the heArt of Wellness.

Why private yoga?

You deserve a practice that supports your current, unique state. A practice that serves the parts of you that want and need to grow.

Whether you want to improve your flexibility, increase your strength, open your heart, clear your head, refine your relationship with yourself or build trust in the universe, we can design a practice that’s right for you.

Maybe you like loud music? Maybe you desire silence and breath? Maybe you want to learn how to stand on your head? Maybe you want therapeutic hands-on assists and essential oils? Maybe you want to learn how to tune in and heal your own wounds?

My formal yoga training and personal practice includes dynamic variations of all of the above, which I will share with you. But I will also share yoga’s ability to transcend the mat. While yoga has kept me physically strong and flexible, it has been the anchor of my spirit and mental health while navigating some of life’s roughest waters including death, mental and physical illness. It has taught me how to show up for myself and how to love, both inwards and outwards. I have been practicing yoga for 10 years and it never ceases to awaken and amaze me in the most unlikely of times and spaces. It brews magic. Let’s make some yoga!
